 how to nurture your nature

  ORIGIN

Tropics of Central and South America, Asia and Africa

  WATER

Water regularly.  Little and often is key.  As a rule, wait for the pot to be 50% dry before watering. Yellowing leaves can be a sign of overwatering.

  LIGHT

Begonias are sensitive with their light requirements.  Bright, indirect is best. Direct sunlight will scorch the leaves, medium light will cause it to stretch and shade will make the leaves wilt.

  TEMPERATURE

18-30 degrees Celsius.  This is from a warm climate so find a warm sunny spot in your home.  Avoid cold drafts and don't let the temperature drop below 15 degrees.

  HUMIDITY

Moderate – some begonias are sensitive to having their leaves wet. Putting a pebble tray under can help to generate a more humid environment.

  TOXICITY

Toxic to humans and pets if ingested.

  FERTILIZER

Feed every month in the spring and summer with an all purpose fertilizer.  Apply to damp soil to avoid burning the roots.
