Hello! I’m Melissa. Thanks for coming by. I am the proud owner of Nature Nurture Botanicals I’m also a proud mom, wife, daughter, sister and friend.
Our family returned to Vancouver Island in 2017 from the mainland, where my husband Tavis and I had spent the last 15 years. Being 20-somethings and starting our family
We wanted to put down roots with our two children, Carter and Maysen. We decided to take a leap of faith and choose to live intergenerationally with Tavis' family.
We now humbly live on one acre of W̱SÁNEĆ land in North Saanich, in the house built by Tavis' parents. Here we share our lives together, supporting one another, and we love it.
Moving to a house with a garden changed everything for me. The luscious greenery, the climate, and the way plants thrived here on Vancouver Island sparked a passion in me that I had no idea existed. It fed my soul.
This is a picture from my first year gardening in 2018. I was hooked!
The ongoing journey as a gardener has led me to where I am today. I have spent countless hours (and dollars) learning, failing, and growing in so many ways.
Along the way, I discovered a book called ‘The Healing Power of Plants’ by Fran Bailey, and it connected me to my deep and honest ‘why’. This is how Nature Nurture Botanicals was born.
Gardening and plants have allowed me to become a student again. They have helped me to connect to nature in a new way. It is now my passion and purpose to share this knowledge with you.
With more time spent indoors these last few years, we saw the opportunity to build the nature nurture connection. To let nature in. We saw the chance to help others learn about the benefits of nature, even when you can't be outside.
